County Auditor seeks pro/con committee members for General Election local ballot measure statements

The Snohomish County Auditor’s Office seeks individuals to write statements for or against local ballot measures for the November 8, 2016 General Election local voters pamphlet.
The local voters pamphlet is delivered to every household prior to the mailing of the General Election ballots.

Committees are comprised of three individuals, one of which is designated chair and serves as a contact point for the Auditors Office. Committees may seek input from any number of other individuals or groups.

Individuals interested in participating on a committee should have a clear interest for or against the ballot measure, be able to work cooperatively with other committee members, and have time available through August 19. Most committees communicate through email.

Committees write a 250 word statement for or against local ballot measures
in the local voters pamphlet. Committees also prepare a 75 word rebuttal to the oppositions statement. Statements are due no later than 5pm on August 16. Rebuttal statements are due no later than 5pm on August 19.

If you are interested in serving on a committee, email a statement of interest to elections@snoco.org by August 12 or contact the Auditors Office at (425) 388-3321. Individuals will be appointed by the County Auditor and will be notified after August 12.

A statement of interest includes your name, your contact information, the district and ballot measure committee on which you are interested in serving, and any information explaining why you should be on the committee.
