Detectives Seek Assistance Identifying Pierce County Hit-and-Run Suspect Vehicle

An unknown driver attempted an illegal lane change and struck an unmarked Puyallup Tribal Police car.

A hit-and-run occurred on SB I-5 at the SR-16 interchange on August 22, 2017 at 11:38 PM when an unknown driver attempted an illegal lane change and struck an unmarked Puyallup Tribal Police car. The suspect pickup truck sustained severe damage near the passenger door area. The collision was recorded on the officers mounted in dash camera system. The officer was unconscious when assistance arrived but was later treated and released from Tacoma General Hospital.

The suspect truck is described as a dark colored possibly green or black Chevrolet pickup truck.

The black rims on the truck are aftermarket rims. The cab of the pickup appeared to have papers along the dashboard. The truck had a load of lumber or large 4×4 type of timber in the bed at the time of the collision.
