Detectives seeking witnesses to a Fatal Hit and Run

At approximately 1:47am on February 2, 2018, the Washington State Patrol (WSP) responded to a report of a serious injury collision on the ramp from Des Moines Memorial Drive to EB SR 518.

Once troopers arrived they were able to determine that a Chevrolet Blazer was out of gas and in the gore point at the top of the ramp. The passenger in this vehicle was standing outside the vehicle on the passenger side.

A Utility truck, similar to the picture at right, was traveling up the ramp, drifted onto the left shoulder and struck the Blazer and the passenger.

This vehicle then left the scene EB on SR 518 and was not located after a thorough search of the area by multiple agencies.

This vehicle also lost a bag of rugby balls (pictured left) during the collision. Unfortunately, the 44 year old male passenger was pronounced deceased at Harborview Medical Center a short time later.

Washington State Patrol Detecitves are seeking any information on the whereabouts of the utility vehicle or driver to assist them in solving this tragic crime. Please contact Detective Brody Ford at (425) 401-7742 or by email at brody.ford@wsp.wa.gov.
