Special NOAA Weather Statement for Dec 24th

LOWLAND SNOW POSSIBLE SUNDAY NIGHT

A weather system will arrive Sunday, spreading rain into the region. After a cold front passes Sunday night, rain will become more showery, and the air mass will cool enough to support snow.

Snow showers are possible Sunday night. Showers will taper Monday morning and end Monday afternoon.

Latest model guidance indicates that snow will not be particularly heavy, with no more than a few inches of accumulation possible in most places.

Snow is more likely in northern areas, mainly north of Seattle, and at higher elevations, above around 500 feet.

However, snow forecasts are difficult, and models can fluctuate significantly. In other words, the forecast is uncertain, but it does seem at least some places will have a white Christmas.
