A massive 3-alarm fire totalled a recycling facility located at 101 E Marine View Dr along Everett’s waterfront this evening. The first 911 calls went out at about 7 o’clock and crews from around the region have responded.
The fire had produced a column of smoke so large it could be seen from Kirkland, it also had started smaller brush or spot fires in the area that were quickly contained by fire units on the scene.
The cause of the fire remains unknown and fire officials haven’t released an estimate of damage.
There is no word on when it will be contained, and it is still active.
Water tenders from surrounding fire districts are bringing in extra water for firefighters to use, due to low water pressure in that area.
Roads near the fire are closed as several firefighters continue to battle the blaze.
The fire is expected to burn throughout the night.
